The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of Australia. The 5-match Test series between the two teams will begin in Perth from November 22.
Fans are eagerly waiting for this match. Meanwhile, a big news has come out. Team India has been announced for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has announced the 16-member Indian squad. The team will be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will be seen as the vice-captain. Yastika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh have been included in the squad.
The selection committee once again did not give a chance to the 20-year-old star batsman Shefali Verma. Her recent ODI form has been poor. Shefali has scored only 108 runs in 6 matches this year out of which 33 runs is the best score. In December last year, she was dropped from the team after a poor performance in the home ODI series against Australia.
The ODI series will start from December 5. After this, the second match will be played on December 8 and the last match of the series will be played on December 11. The first two ODIs will be played at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, followed by the final of the series at the WACA Ground in Perth, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship. Team India recently defeated New Zealand 2-1 in the ODI series at home and will now look to defeat Australia at their home ground. However, it will not be that easy for Team India.
