In Ratnagiri city, a couple who robbed an elderly woman in broad daylight are in police custody; The children of the accused are in the juvenile reformatory

Ratnagiri : The accused couple, who tied the face of an elderly woman who owns a flat with a towel and took away her ornaments, were ordered by the court to be kept in police custody for two days. The two children of this couple have been admitted by the police to a children’s correctional home for their upbringing.

Shekhar Talwadekar (47), wife Ashlesha Talwadekar (47) went to Sunanda Sriram Patwardhan (age 72) living near Lata Talkies in Ratnagiri town on the pretext of renting a conjugal flat. On seeing the elderly woman who owns the flat alone in the house, the accused couple tied her face with a towel. When the old woman tried to resist, she was beaten up.

After she became unconscious during the beating, the flat owner forcibly removed the jewelery worth Rs 1 lakh 64 thousand from her body. After registering a case with the city police in this regard, the police of the local crime branch arrested both the accused.

The accused were produced in court on Sunday. The accused couple has a 14-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. Due to the arrest of the parents, the children have been kept in a juvenile detention center so that the upbringing of both their children does not suffer.

In this case, the court has sent two days police custody to both the accused. The accused mother was moved to tears by the memory of the children; But the city police has solved the problem of child care by taking proper action. Meanwhile, Special Assistant Public Prosecutor Nilanjan Nachankar acted on behalf of the police.
