Imprisonment of accused avoided due to compromise – Konkan Today

The accused, who was sentenced for non-cashing of cheques, was released without imprisonment. After the sentence was pronounced, the accused appealed before the Sessions Court. It was also requested that the matter should be settled through compromise as the complainant is defaulting on the money. Accordingly, the court canceled the imprisonment sentence of the accused after a compromise.
According to the information in the case, Yogendra Shripad Dhole had filed a case in 2016 against accused Anil Govind Dhole in the case of dishonored cheques.
After hearing the case, Ratnagiri First Class Judicial Magistrate N. C. Pawar Saheb had ordered the accused Anil Govid Dhole to undergo simple imprisonment for three months and to pay a compensation of Rs 2 lakh 74 thousand 750 to the plaintiff. Also, if the said compensation amount is not paid, another month's simple imprisonment was sentenced.
