*Ratnagiri, September 11 The government is giving a paltry allowance of only Rs. 250 per month for the temple of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Malvan in Sindhudurg district under the jurisdiction of Archeology Department of India. Had it not been for Chhatrapati Shivarai, the land of Maharashtra would have been under the control of invaders. Shiva Raya protected the land of Maharashtra and its culture with his life. Spent his life standing for it. Paying only Rs. 250 per month for the temple of such national heroes is not a good thing for the government. In the present inflationary period, it is not possible to meet the basic and essential needs like lighting the lamp in the temple, paying the electricity bill, arranging drinking water etc. in such a small allowance. Therefore, the Hindu Rashtra Coordinating Committee through a statement has demanded that the allowance given to the temple of Chhatrapati Shivaji, which is a historical monument, should be increased. This statement Resident Deputy Collector Shri. Chandrakant Suryavanshi was recently awarded at Ratnagiri. On this occasion Shri of Hindu Rashtra Coordination Committee. Ganesh Gaikwad, Ms. Ankita Rajeshirke, Shri. Arvind Barskar, Mr. Chhaganlal Chhipa, Shri. Mangilal Mali, Shri. Sanjay Joshi and others were present. According to the statement given to Collector Ratnagiri, this temple is the only one in Maharashtra built by Rajaram Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the year 1695. The footprints of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are preserved even today. It is necessary to develop this place as a tourist area by conveying the importance of such a historical place to everyone. The annual allowance of 2 thousand 100 rupees per year for this temple was increased to 3 thousand rupees from the year 1970-71; However, there is no record of increase in this allowance after this. Plaques, library, historical archives, history in the form of pictures at Shiva Raya’s temple site informing about the work of Shiva Raya will help in creating national pride among the citizens who come to this place along with tourism. The tourism department, government representatives and historians should jointly inspect the temple and decide a comprehensive plan for the preservation of the temple and information about the work of Shiva Raya. The necessary funds for this should be provided by the government and the work should be completed by fixing the time limit. In this regard, it was said that necessary action will be taken in the winter session at Nagpur. Hindutva organizations followed up on this; However, it does not seem to have been acted upon yet. It has been requested in this statement that orders should be given to the concerned department in this regard.
