World class ports should be built in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg for fishermen. Also, former MLA Bal Mane informed that there was a positive discussion with the governor for double-tracking of Konkan railway, Chiplun-Karad route, Vaibhavwadi-Kolhapur route and Jaigad-Dingani freight railway. Regarding this Mr. Mane told reporters that the regional development imbalance in Konkan, pending development projects were discussed. The Governor can follow up with the Central Government, the Union Home Ministry, and the Prime Minister’s Office along with the State Government. Dupdarization of Konkan Railway, Vaibhavwadi-Kolhapur railway, Chiplun to Karhad and Dingani-Jaigarh railway for freight were discussed. He requested that the central government should follow up on this as the governor. Mr. Mane said that mango and cashew farmers in Ratnagiri district are in trouble. Banks have overdue loans. They do not get new loans. Their loans should be waived off and efforts should be made to stand up to the mango and cashew growers at concessional rates and without looking at the CIBIL score as a special matter. Mango, cashew crop is not protected due to climate change. For that, expensive drugs have to be taken for spraying. Therefore, it has been requested that the Governor should ask the ICR to research alternative medicines and get these medicines at a lower cost. Cashew should get guaranteed price. Also, subsidy should be given to the mango producer for transportation and packaging. Some of the technical errors in the Prime Minister’s Fisheries Resource Scheme should be removed. Fishermen want world class ports in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga. At the same time, Bal Mane mentioned that it has been demanded that more facilities should be made available to fish processing industries for export on priority basis.
