Today i.e. on 8th September 2024, Ganesha devotees will bid farewell to Bappa for one and a half days. A large number of domestic ganaras are immersed on many beaches in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation area. However, going to sea water for immersion can be expensive for Mumbaikars. Harmful fish that can bite Ganesha devotees during immersion have been found in the trial netting of the Fisheries Department. Especially, the number of such dangerous fish is increasing concern. In this regard, the Assistant Commissioner of Fisheries of Mumbai City District has given. Against this background, citizens have been urged to be more alert and take care during immersion. Chowpatties at Dadar and Girgaon were inspected by the Fisheries Department of the Government of Maharashtra. Fish like Jelly Fish, Dhomi, Prawn, Blue Jelly Fish, Sting Ray, Shingi, Ghoda Masa, Choge Raas have been found in this. The bite of some of these fish can be fatal for Ganesha devotees. That is why it has been requested that those who go for immersion at Chowpatty should take some special care. It has been said that the immersion of Ganesha idol should be done only through the life guard appointed by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the relevant system. It has also been said that Ganesha devotees should not go naked in the sea during Ganapati immersion. Fish usually bite the legs during immersion. That is why the administration has said that gumboots should be used so that the feet are not bitten by fish.
