‘Ganpati Krupa’ increase in basic pay of Rs 6500 to ST employees

Mumbai, Dt. 4: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today decided to increase the basic salary of the State Transport Corporation employees by Rs 6500 from April 2020. The ST Employees’ Action Association welcomed the decision and thanked the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister expressed his displeasure to the organizations for the suffering caused to the common people due to the ST strike during the Ain Ganapati festival.

Chief Minister Shri. Shinde chaired a meeting of the employee unions. On this occasion Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Industries Minister Uday Samant, MLA Sarveshree Sadabhau Khot, Gopichand Padalkar, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. i. S. Chahal, Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary Transport Department Sanjay Sethi, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Department O. P. Gupta, ST Corporation Managing Director Madhav Kusekar along with representatives of various employee unions were present.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Minister Shri. Shinde expressed strong displeasure about the strike.

The chief minister announced the decision to increase the basic salary of the employees by Rs 6500 from April 2020, stating that he was taking a middle path to provide relief to the ST employees regarding the wage hike demands made by the organizations at this time. At the same time, the Chief Minister directed to prepare a plan to remove the bad condition of rest houses for drivers and carriers in the depots of the state. While saying that the drivers and carriers should get better facilities, the Chief Minister also appealed to the employees to make efforts to increase the revenue of ST.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis suggested that the state government has made Mahatma Jotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana for all and the ST Corporation should do the related scheme to benefit the employees while discussing about reimbursement of medical expenses to ST employees.

On this occasion, issues such as one year free pass for retired employees, taking suspended employees into service were discussed. At this time Adv. Gunaratna Sadawarde, Hanumant Tathe, Sandeep Shinde, Srirang Barge etc. expressed their feelings. MLA Mr. Padalkar thanked.
