* Nhaveli, Day-30:-* As Ganeshotsav is just ten days away, schools of traditional sculptors in the district have started bustling at night. After the strong arrival of rains in the month of July, now the agricultural works have been completed and the sculptors have started preparations for Ganeshotsav. As there are only a few days left, currently the work of painting idols in Ganesha idols has started.
As Bappa is about to arrive, the traditional Ganesha idol schools of Gavogaon in the district are bustling. Some sculptors have brought eco-friendly Ganesha idols from Pen since May. Work is going on at war level to make clay idols. Sculptors are working hard to make Ganesha idols in molds and hands according to the wishes of the devotees. Along with conventional soil, the demand for shadu soil has increased and the price has increased. At present, although the traditional painting of clay idols is in progress, there is a tendency to do many new handicrafts such as Hirejadi idols, cloth garments. The prices of paints and other materials have also increased tremendously. Although labor wages have risen, skilled artisans have become harder to find. Although the profession has found itself in the midst of many problems, traditional sculptors still maintain the profession. In the district, there are Ganesha idols in every village and the sculptors are seen doing all the work from mixing clay to painting with their families. Some of the sculptors’ Mumbai-based family members are also going to enter in a few days. Currently there is a growing demand for clay idols of Shadu along with Ganesha idols in pen. However, due to increase in fuel price, increase in the price of raw materials, the prices of idols have increased. Sculptors are seen working day and night in Ganesha murtishalas.
