An oxygen cylinder exploded in the ambulance 108 which was carrying a pregnant woman from Jalgaon Dharangaon. The remains of the vehicle were torn into pieces and its remains flew up to a height of 150 feet. Due to the punctuality of the driver, the lives of the patient, his relatives and the doctor in the ambulance have been saved. The fire was extinguished by two fire engines. The incident took place between 9:15 and 9:30 pm on Wednesday night at the bridge of Gujral Petrol Pump on the highway. According to the sources, 108 ambulance MH14 CL0796 from Dharangaon was coming to the Government Medical College and Hospital while carrying a pregnant woman. Gujral was changing gears near the petrol pump flyover when the fire erupted.
Suspecting that there was something wrong, the driver Rahul Baviskar took the vehicle to the side of the road. Dr. Rafiq Ansari, the patient and the relatives of the vehicle got down. At the same time, he was sent to the hospital by placing him in another ambulance coming from behind. As soon as this vehicle moved forward some distance, the oxygen cylinder in the ambulance exploded loudly. In no time, the vehicle was torn to shreds. Flames and cylinders shot up to a hundred and fifty feet high. The burst cylinders were lying on the other side of the road while the empty cylinders were lying near the vehicle.
