*Oros, D-18:-* The government has set the stage to end the existence of local self-government schools due to the approval of teacher sets based on the number of students and the recruitment of contract teachers. Therefore, all the teachers unions have warned to call a non-cooperation movement to cancel these decisions immediately. Protest will be done by wearing black ribbon till justice is served. Non-cooperation will be called by leaving all WhatsApp groups. It has been clarified that a march will be taken out in every district along with parents on 25th September on minor leave. In accordance with the cancellation of government decision of student-based teacher recognition and contract teacher recruitment and other pending demands, a determination meeting of all the teachers unions in the state was held at Shikshakar Bhavan Pune recently. The state joint secretary of All Maharashtra Primary Teachers’ Association M. L. Desai said.
There is continuous neglect by the government regarding the pending demands of the primary schools, education, students and teachers of local bodies in the state. Along with this, the government decision of 15th March 2024, 5th September 2024 which is inconsistent with the provisions of the Right to Education Act 2009 will end the existence of primary schools of local bodies. There is indifference at the government level in taking favorable decisions regarding the settlement of other demands. That is why a unilateral decision to call the protest was taken in the determination meeting. L. Desai said. 15th March, 2024 should be revoked. Government decision dated 5th September 2024 to close one post of working teacher and appoint retired on contractual basis in case of schools with enrollment of 20 or less than 20 should be cancelled. It was said that the demands to cancel the Aadhaar card based teacher post determination policy are pending.
