On Thursday, railway passengers dressed in white protested to draw attention to their two main demands: setting up a separate authority called ‘Transport of Mumbai’ for Mumbai’s local rail transport like Konkan Railway and starting 15-coach trains as soon as possible to reduce congestion. As the suffering of passengers of Trans Harbor Local Service is increasing day by day, railway passenger unions have called for a protest by wearing white clothes. Accordingly, complaints against the management of railway administration were read at various railway stations in Thane and Mumbai area. This movement got a good response in Thane. Railway passenger organizations claimed that railway passengers in Mumbai also participated in the protest. On behalf of the organizations, black bands were distributed to the railway passengers at some stations on Thursday morning and they were urged to travel wearing them. Accordingly, many railway passengers protested against the railway administration. Thursday’s first protest demanding safe local rail travel passed peacefully.
