‘Ek Paid Maa Ke Naam’ initiative at Kolghar

Uran Day 29 (Vitthal Mamtabade): About 10,000 seedballs of 10 different indigenous varieties were planted at Kolghar in Raigad district on 28th September 2024 by ONGC Uran Plant in collaboration with Forest Department of Alibaug and NGO chain on 28th September 2024 as part of “Ek Paid Maa Ke Naam” initiative of Government of India.

The ONGC team was led by GGM-Head Maintenance and Officiating Plant Manager Bikram Singh, CGM-Chief Engineering Services – YVTR Shekhar, GM-Head HR Smt. Bhavna Athawale et al.

Local tribal women with the help of an NGO produced seedballs which also provided them with a livelihood. More than 400 children from the nearby ashram school participated. Everyone benefited greatly from the awareness session organized by the NGO on how to make seedballs and the importance of traditional plantation methods to achieve the goals of time saving, very low cost afforestation.
