The accident took place on Saturday afternoon at Gelvali Tappa in Sangameshwar taluka. A case has been registered against the driver Rajendra Ukha Wagh in the Sangameshwar police station. Kailas Ashek Sable has filed a complaint regarding the accident. Sudhir Sadashiv Masurkar (40), Pramila Sudhir Masurkar (32), Veer Sudhir Masurkar (10), Karvi Sudhir Masurkar (5), Priya Prakash Rane (51), Vaibhav Prakash Rane (30), Praveen Shankar Sawant (49) were killed in this accident. and Vidya Praveen Sawant (49, all of Kankavali, Sindhudurg) were injured. All of them were coming to the village for Ganpati. Bus driver Rajendra Wagh was traveling to Sindhudurg from Andheri to Sawantwadi (MH 14, BT 1708) from Igatpuri on Saturday. When the bus reached Gaelvali Tappa in Sangameshwar taluka on the Mumbai-Gaeva highway, the driver, Vagh, fell asleep. So the car overturned on the left side of the road.
