Ratnagiri, Dt. 18: Collector M Devender Singh held a meeting of Kotrewadi villagers in Lanja taluka today. Collector M Devender Singh appealed that voting is everyone’s right, the villagers should not be deprived of it and should not do anything to deprive others.
Collector Shri. Singh held a meeting of Kotrewadi villagers in his hall today. Municipal Administration Officer Tushar Babar, Lanja Chief Harshala Rane, Mangesh Ambekar along with Kotrewadi villagers were present.
Regarding the solid waste management started by Lanja Nagar Panchayat, the process of land purchase at Kotrewadi can be harmful for the health of the villagers, for which the villagers are boycotting the upcoming elections, according to Mr. Ambekar presented.
Collector Shri. Singh directed Principal Lanja to re-examine the matter as per rules. Since the case is sub judice, the villagers also appealed to the court to present their side more clearly and resolve the issue through legal means. Voting is everyone’s right. The villagers themselves should not be deprived of it and should not do any act that would cause others to be deprived. He also warned that strict action will be taken against the concerned through the administration if it is found.
