Mumbai : Nashik and Marathwada have won in getting Maratha certificate based on Kunbi record in the state. Six lakh Kunbi caste certificates have been distributed in the state in the last 11 months. 1 lakh 92 thousand 86 certificates have been distributed in Nashik division and 1 lakh 61 thousand 694 certificates have been distributed in Marathwada. It includes the highest number of 1 lakh 4 thousand 370 certificates in Beed district.
Interestingly, at the government level, the application rejection rate is often higher. However, 6 lakh 27 thousand 953 caste certificates have been distributed in the entire state. So 16 thousand 504 applications are pending. The number of rejected applications is 2 thousand 189. 1 lakh 11 thousand 47 billion came in Beed district, out of which 1 lakh 4 thousand 370 people have been given Kunbi caste certificates. Konkan division received the least 44 thousand 483 applications out of which 44 thousand 167 caste certificates have been allotted. After the Maratha agitation raging in the state for the last year, Kunbi records are being searched and Kunbi certificates are being given to the Maratha community on the basis of those records. Like Marathwada, these certificates should be given to the Maratha community in the entire state. A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Sandeep Shinde. The Shinde committee has found 58 lakh 77 thousand 993 Kunbi records across the state. All these records have been made available on the website of each district.
Marathwada has the least, while Nagpur division has found 9 lakh 4 thousand 976 Kunbi records, Vidarbha and Konkan divisions have already had a high number of Kunbi caste certificate takers, so there are not many applications for new Kunbi certificates. Kunbi certificates have been distributed to 44 thousand 167 people in Konkan division. 240 in Mumbai city, 29 in Mumbai suburbs have got Kunbi certificate.
8 lakh 27 thousand Kunbi records were found in Nashik division. Based on that, 1 lakh 98 thousand people applied for Kunbi caste certificate, out of which 1 lakh 92 thousand 86 people have been given caste certificates so far.
Marathwada benefits due to Shinde committee
In Marathwada, the protestors complained that Kunbi caste certificates were not being issued as Nizam-era documents were not checked. The Shinde Committee worked to determine the procedure for examining Nizam period documents as well as other documents. It is seen that Marathwada has benefited to a large extent. Although few Kunbi records have been found in Marathwada, many people have received Kunbi caste certificates based on them. In Marathwada, Beed has the highest number of 1 lakh 4 thousand 300 and Latur district has the lowest number of 1 thousand 923 Kunbi caste certificates.
