*Mumbai Goa National Highway: The journey of Mumbaikars going to Konkan by road is a big problem. One has to reach Konkan by making a way through the pit. The news regarding this highway has been continuously coming for the past few days. Now, MP from Mumbai North West Lok Sabha Constituency Ravindra Waikar has directly met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and written a letter regarding the situation of Mumbai-Goa Highway 66. Taking cognizance of that letter, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ordered to make these highways pothole-free before Ganeshotsav. Balasaheb Theng, Technical Advisor of the Road Transport and Highways Department at the Center has given the letter in this regard to the concerned departments. But this work is not done. After that Samriddhi Highway was built. But this highway is still not completed. There are potholes on this highway. Due to this, the people of Konkan going to the village through this route are facing many difficulties. It takes more than 16 hours for the servants who pass through this route to reach home in Konkan. Finally MP Ravindra Waikar met Nitin Gadkari and discussed about this highway. A letter was given to him in this regard.*Nitin Gadkari’s assurance* All the potholes on the Mumbai Goa state highway will be filled before Ganesh festival. Minister Nitin Gadkari has assured MP Waikar that this road will be made smooth for traffic. After that a letter was sent to the concerned department and ordered to fill all the potholes on the highway. He said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inspected Mumbai Goa Highway today. But no matter what is done, the servants will not get relief. This is a government mismanagement. Everyone knows how much experience Adani, Anil Ambani has in building roads. Road works are given to their friends to make profit. Even Nitin Gadkari has nothing to do before him. Because all decisions are made from above. As it is a highway issue, the state government cannot do anything more. All they have in their hands is to award contracts and earn commissions. So the servants will have to wait for our government. After our government comes, we will give priority attention to this highway. Ex-Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that we will curb the increase in commissions in this department.
