Leader Online Desk : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti was denied entry to Poonch by the administration today (30th) due to security reasons. In protest, he and his supporters staged a sit-in on the Rajouri-Poonch highway.
On December 21, terrorists attacked two army vehicles. Four jawans were martyred in this. The army detained some locals to investigate the matter. Local citizens are alleging that three of them died in the custody of the army.
Mehbooba Mufti was on her way to Poonch to meet civilians who alleged that they had died in army custody. Police officials denied Mufti entry into Poonch. In protest, they staged a sit-in on the Rajouri-Poonch highway. He took the stand that he will not move from the highway. He also accused the administration of taking a duplicitous role. Mehbooba Mufti while talking to the media said that I don't know why the administration is so afraid of me. No security issues, yet I'm not allowed. Traffic is moving, leaders are meeting relatives, only I am being stopped.
