Sindhudurgnagari, D-19:- Mrs. Lakshminarayan Gawde 81, resident of Kasal Vajrewadi, died at her residence at 2 am on Tuesday. She was the mother of Ratnagiri Times journalist Ravi Gawde and the wife of Narayan Gawde, the founder of Jyeshta Nagarik Sangh.

Mrs. Lakshmi Gawde, who lives in Kasal Vajrewadi, worked as a child servant. Her husband, Mr. Narayan Gawde of Kasal, served as a village servant. After retirement, he decided to work among the senior citizens and established the Senior Citizens Association. Mrs. Lakshmi had given him valuable support in these works. Mrs. Lakshmi passed away at her residence at 2 o'clock in the morning on Monday. She is survived by husband, son journalist Ravi Gawde, daughter-in-law, grandchildren. He was cremated in the crematorium at Vajrewadi. A large number of dignitaries, senior citizens, journalists and villagers were present on this occasion.
