Ratnagiri : Dapoli Winter Cyclothon Season 6 organized by Dapoli Cycling Club took place on November 10, a challenging 65 km Hornbill Scenic Route ride with 1000+ meters of ascent. Many famous contestants from the country and abroad participated in this. Short City Loop Ride Competition and Fun Ride organized on 17th November 2024 to encourage competitors from local Dapoli area concluded with enthusiasm at Sohni Vidyamandir Maidan Dapoli. 150+ contestants in the age group of 7 to 60+ years participated in it. Competitors cycled from 4 to 100+ km with 1 to 25+ laps on the 4 km short city loop ride route.
A time limit of seven hours was given for cycling the distance of 100+ km. This ride started at 5 am and lasted till 12 noon. All the participants were felicitated with medals and certificates. Also ₹200, ₹300, ₹500 each were given to those who cycled 50, 70, 100 km. Many were felicitated with honorary cups, school gifts. Nitin Barve, Makarand Pujari, Sarthak Mandavkar, Advait Amrite, Atharva Mandavkar, Prem Bhusare cycled 100+ km. Nisha Sharma, Vedang Karandikar, Swaraj Manjare, Shravan Hande etc cycled 70+ km. Mansi Phatak, Riddhima Chavan, Anvay Mandlik, Ved Gorivale, Ahan Amrite etc. have cycled 50+ km. Abha Phatak, Ansh Pandey, Ahan Amrite, Puskaraj Kadam, Aradhya Gorivale, Meghraj Kalambakar, Adi Bhambid, Prem Jade etc. were also felicitated.
Many people like Ambarish Gurav, Prashant Palvankar, Rajeshkumar Kadam, Ragini Risbud, Rajendra Nachre, Suraj Sheth etc played a valuable role in planning this cyclothon competition. Dapoli Cycling Club has called upon people to use bicycles more in their daily lives for stress-free fitness and to cooperate in preserving bicycle culture.
