* Kankavali, D-22:-* “Bharatiya Janata Party has organized a grand Dahi Handi festival on Friday, August 30 from 4 pm on the grounds in front of the Upazila Hospital here. The first prize of the festival is Rs. 5 lakh 55 thousand 555. This Dahi Handi festival for women and men has been sponsored by MLA Nitesh Rane. Famous artists from Marathi and Hindi cinema will be present at the festival and a famous orchestra from Mumbai will be performed. Former Union Minister, MP Narayan Rane, Guardian Minister Ravindra Chavan, MLA Nitesh Rane, Ex-MP Nilesh Rane, BJP District President Prabhakar Sawant, District Bank President Manish Dalvi, Ex-MLA Pramod Jathar etc. The Dahi Handi festival will have prizes for different categories. In this, four layers-3 thousand rupees, 5 layers-5 thousand rupees, 6 layers-7 thousand rupees, 7 layers-20 thousand rupees, 8 layers will be given 25 thousand rupees. Govinda who breaks the curd will be given a bicycle and all the participating teams will be given a medal. Former Zilla Parishad president Sandesh alias Gotya Sawant, former city president Sameer Nalavde, taluka presidents Milind Mestri and Dilip Talekar, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha district president Sandeep Mestri, city president Anna Kode have appealed to attend the Dahihandi festival.
