RIYADH — On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will inaugurate the activities of the first year of the ninth session of the Shoura Council in Riyadh on Wednesday.
Speaker Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sheikh and members of the Council, who were appointed to the ninth session of the Council recently by a royal order, will take the oath of office before the Crown Prince.
In a statement, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sheikh said that the Council is honored to listen to the annual speech of the King, to be delivered on his behalf by the Crown Prince. In the address to the Council, Saudi Arabia’s domestic and foreign policies as well as its positions towards all regional and international issues will be outlined.
The speaker expressed his thanks and appreciation to King Salman and the Crown Prince for issuing the royal decree to constitute the ninth session of the Council. He looked forward to realizing the aspirations of the wise leadership to participate in the comprehensive development process for the homeland and the citizens of this country, in light of the support, keenness and follow-up of the Shoura Council’s work from the wise leadership.
Al-Sheikh highlighted the successes and achievements witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of the King and the Crown Prince at all levels, and a sustainable development renaissance in accordance with the framework of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The speaker noted that the Council took a total of 1510 decisions in 191 regular sessions during the past four years of the eighth session, of which 493 decisions were taken in 44 sessions during the fourth year alone. He appreciated the excellent performance of the members of the eighth session of the Council and welcomed the new members, wishing them every success.
