Mumbai :The condition of giving an undertaking to the effect that ST employees have to pay back the excess pay while fixing the pay scale has now been cancelled. ST Corporation has issued a circular in this regard.
While circulating the minutes of the meeting with the Chief Minister during the discussion on the demands of the ST employees, the pledge was muddled due to the presumption of mentioning the names of only a few leaders associated with the government. If the names of all the present employee organizations as well as the names of their office bearers were in the minutes, there would have been no need to take the undertaking from the employees. Shrirang Barge, general secretary of the Maharashtra ST Employees Congress, alleged that the workers were being forced to write affidavits for no reason. The decision to scrap the condition has been welcomed by ST employee unions.
Salary arrears in five monthly installments
The arrears of revised wages will also be paid in equal installments in five months from September 2024 to January 2025 to the employees who have been demoted due to retirement, resignation, voluntary retirement, dismissal, death, medically unfit or other reasons between 1st April to 31st August. The decision to increase the basic salary of the State Transport Corporation employees by Rs 6500 from April 2020 was taken through the mediation of the government.
