Nagpur: Street beggars are always a subject of neglect. Insults and taunts are their forte. But, something different happened in Nagpur. These helpless souls were collected together with dignity and made a pilgrimage.*Someone begs with a helpless face on the streets of different parts of Nagpur, some people walk around begging on the road with a bag on their back, while some elderly beggars walk around begging on the pavement of the temple or the street. In the past few years, the number of beggars begging in various parts of the city has increased. A trip was organized for 50 beggars from various such areas under the National Beggar Free India Mission. After taking a trip to Ramdham in Ramtek in a luxury car, all these beggars were very happy. Various activities are being implemented under the National Beggar-Free India initiative to change the mindset of street beggars. This is one of the initiatives, 50-year-old beggars begging in different areas of Nagpur were taken for a trip to Ramtek in a luxurious double-decker AC bus. At that place, he showed them the area and arranged for their food. Spending about two to two and a half hours at that place, Sahal returned to Nagpur again with a distinct joy on his face. Beggars should also be brought into the mainstream. This activity is being implemented by the organization as it is an effort to bring moments of happiness in their lives and also enable them to live as human beings. On this occasion, former MP Vikas Mahatme flagged off the bus for the trip. Sunil Mandve, coordinator of the National Beggar-Free Mission, said that this initiative is being implemented through the organization to change the mentality of beggars and enable them to live as human beings in the society. This initiative has been implemented to instill enthusiasm in their lives and enable them to lead a better life in the society. His face showed different enthusiasm due to this activity. We get emotional and give money or some things to beggars on the street. This is a short-term sensitivity. However, we should be able to convert this sensitivity into long-term sensitivity. Instead of begging on the streets, shelter them in shelters. We have made a habit of giving something on the street and they have also got this habit. Therefore, if they are provided in shelters, the street beggars will go to the shelters day and night by themselves. They will somehow increase the attraction of these shelters. If they stop begging on the streets and go to night shelters, they will be truly rehabilitated.
