Chief Minister Tirtha Darshan Scheme Citizens should benefit – Collector M Devender Singh.

Ratnagiri, – Under the “Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan” scheme, senior citizens will be able to visit important pilgrimage sites of the country for free. However, District Collector M Devender Singh has appealed that maximum citizens of the district should apply for this scheme and take advantage of this scheme. A total of 73 pilgrimage sites in India and 66 pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra have been included under this scheme. Almost all the important pilgrimage areas of the country and state have been included. Senior citizens of all religions of the state will get the opportunity to visit the pilgrimage sites of India for free through the Chief Minister’s Tirtha Darshan Yojana, in order to achieve peace of mind and spiritual level by going on major pilgrimages in the country. Eligible person will get one time benefit of this scheme for pilgrimage to one of the designated pilgrimage sites under the scheme. Also, the maximum limit for travel expenses will be Rs 30,000 per person. This will include actual travel, food, accommodation etc. Annual income of the beneficiary should be 2 lakh 50 thousand. Beneficiary should be a resident of Maharashtra state and should be a senior citizen above 60 years of age. To get the benefit of the said scheme (before 31st October 2024 online application after offline application) has to be submitted. Authorized tourist companies as well as registered companies authorized by IRCTC or equivalent to organize travel through various modes of transport under this scheme will be selected by following the tendering process prescribed in the rules. The selection of the passengers will be done by the district level committee constituted at the district level. Similarly, quota will be fixed for each district based on population and passengers will be selected through lottery based on the availability of applications received.
