A wave of anger has spread in the state after the replica statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the idol of Maharashtra, collapsed in just eight months at the Rajkot fort in Malvan of Sindhudurg district. In the background of all this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reacted today (August 29). Chief Minister Shinde said that he is ready to apologize to Shiv Raya not once but a hundred times. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde further said that he is ready to apologize to Shivaji once again, if not a hundred times. We are working together as a grand coalition. So once again we have to see how the big statue will stand. The opponents have many issues to politicize. However, Chief Minister Shinde said that the subject of Shivaji Maharaj is not a matter of politics but a matter of faith for us. He said that we had a meeting yesterday regarding re-erecting the statue of Shivaji Maharaj. A committee has been formed to erect the statue once again and experts will be included in the committee. He said that this committee will start work at the earliest.
