Malvan: The state government is going to erect a new 60 feet tall statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Malvan Rajkot. Within a month after the incident of the statue falling, the public works department of the state has started the tender process of Rs 20 crore for this.
A time limit of six months has been given to complete the work.
After the statue at Rajkoi collapsed, a committee was formed to erect a new statue. According to his report, the grand coalition government of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar has taken up the task of erecting a new statue immediately.
A 60-feet tall sword-bearing statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be erected in Rajkot following all the criteria on which the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Statue of Unity, has been erected. At this time, the state government has released a tender with criteria of more than 500 pages so that there are no errors in the work.
Maintenance of the statue for ten years by the contractor
The newly erected statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will have a lifespan of about 100 years. The contractor has to do maintenance and repair of this statue for 10 years. A 3 feet fiber model should be prepared and approved by the Art Directorate. Information is available on the website of the Public Works Department that under the guidance of IIT Powai and experienced persons will be given the task of erecting this statue.
Satisfaction among Shiva lovers
After the fall of the statue on 26th August, there was displeasure among Shiva lovers everywhere. But, now the Shiva lovers are expressing their satisfaction as the state government has taken up the work of erecting a new statue.
