Certification of ‘MCMC’ is mandatory for pre-voting and polling day advertisements – District Election Officer M. Devender Singh

RATNAGIRI, D.11: (JIMACA)- Any political advertisement in the print media by any political party or election candidate or any other organization or person on the day of polling on 20th November 2024 and one day before the polling i.e. 19th November 2024, unless the State / Should not be published in newspaper unless pre-certified by District Level Media Pre-certification Committee (MCMC). District Election Officer M. Devender Singh has directed that this directive of the Election Commission of India should be strictly followed. The incident should not happen. Instructions have been given to ensure that no advertisements are published which may interfere with the election process. Therefore, any political party or election candidate or any other organization or person shall make any political advertisement in the print media on the day of polling on 20th November 2024 and one day before the polling i.e. 19th November 2024 for the Maharashtra Assembly General Election, unless approved by the State/District Level Media Pre-Certification Committee (MCMC). is not pre-certified, and in case a political party or election candidate or any other organization or person is to issue a political advertisement in the print media during the said period, the applicants must inform the MCMC two days prior to the proposed date of publication of the advertisement. The Election Commission has also given instructions to apply to the committee.
