In a reputed school in Badlapur, there was an incident of sexual abuse of children. In protest of this incident, a sit-in protest was held at Badlapur railway station demanding death sentence to the accused. The protest had been going on for the past ten hours. The railway department was affected for ten hours. But the protesters did not budge. The local MLA and Minister Girish Mahajan along with the police had appealed to call off the agitation, but the protesters did not back down and the police had to resort to mild lathi charge. Lathicharge was used to disperse the protestors sitting on the tracks at the railway station in Badlapur.
