The asphalting of Kaluste Ghat on Kondhe-Karambawane road in Chiplun taluk was done one and a half years ago. However, the asphalting of the road partially laid for the security wall work has not been done yet. Despite repeated compliance by the villagers of the area, the engineers and contractors of the Employment Guarantee Scheme office are ignoring them, due to which the villagers are angry.
The road was asphalted up to Kaluste Ghat on Konde-Karambawane road with the funds received through MLA Shekhar Nikam. Since one side of the Kaluste Ghat on the same route had collapsed during heavy rains on 22 July, asphalting of parts of the ghat was abandoned for the construction of this side wall.
