Asaram Bapu, who is serving life sentence in Jodhpur Jail, has been brought to Madhavbagh Medical Center for heart disease treatment. He is serving life sentence for raping a minor girl. Asaram Bapu was arrested in September 2013. He is serving sentence in Jodhpur Central Jail. He has been granted a 7-day parole leave by the Rajasthan High Court for health reasons. Accordingly they have been brought to Madhavbagh Ayurvedic at Kalote in Khalapur taluka. He is being treated there. Asaram was suffering from heart disease for the past few days. Therefore, the police had expressed fear that law and order problem may arise if they are kept in the local area for treatment. After that the court has allowed to take treatment in Madhav Bagh in Khalapur. While granting the parole, the High Court has imposed certain conditions. According to it, four police personnel will travel with them, along with two attendants. He will be kept in a private cottage in Khopoli and Asaram will have to bear the entire cost of treatment and transportation as well as the cost of police support.
