Sawantwadi, D-11:- Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with immense enthusiasm in Konkan. With these two words ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’, happiness, enthusiasm and vitality start flowing on the face of a Konkani person. Ganaraya arrives from house to house. Participating in the joy of the people, Mrs. Archana Ghare-Parab, Konkan Division Women President of NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar Party, took darshan of the home-made Ganesha.
Archana Ghare went door to door in Sawantwadi, Dodamarg and Vengurla talukas of Sawantwadi assembly constituency and visited Ganesha. He participated in the festival which brings joy, enthusiasm and vitality to the face of a Konkani man. He took darshan of Ganesha from 70 families of Choukul village in the taluka. At this time joint families are not seen nowadays due to nuclear family system. However, these families still exist in Konkan. The traditional customs of Ganeshotsav have been preserved by these families for years. Mrs. Ganapati of united families is the ideal in today’s social system. Archana Ghare expressed. Santosh Gawde, Laxman Gawde, Mahesh Gawde, Baburao Gawde, Kalpana Gawde, Alka Gawde and others were present on this occasion.
