Thane: A code of conduct has been implemented in the wake of assembly elections. However, in the last few days, there seems to be an increase in complaints of violations of the code of conduct. 1 thousand 201 complaints have been received on the C-Vigil app within a month. District Election Department informed that 1 thousand 38 complaints were settled within 100 minutes.

The code of conduct has been implemented from October 15 as soon as the assembly elections are announced. The District Election Department is ready to ensure that the code of conduct is not violated during this period. Election will be held in 18 assembly constituencies of Thane district. The campaigning of candidates of Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi in all these constituencies has gained momentum. Candidates’ programs like processions, campaign rounds, meetings and gatherings are scheduled. The political atmosphere seems to have heated up due to accusations by the ruling party and the opposition. If it is noticed that any party or candidate is violating the code of conduct during these processions, meetings and gatherings, a complaint can be made on the C-VIGIL app. If any irregularities are found in the campaign, citizens are sharing messages, photos, videos of the matter on this app.

In the last few days, there seems to be an increase in the complaints of violation of the code of conduct. 1 thousand 201 complaints have been received on this app in Thane district during the period of one month from 15th October i.e. since the implementation of the code of conduct to 14th November. Out of 1 thousand 201 complaints received, 1 thousand 109 complaints have been found with this. Out of this 1 thousand 38 complaints have been settled within 100 minutes. District Election Department informed that 92 complaints have been excluded.
