Ratnagiri: After receiving hospitality during a five-day stay at the devotees’ homes, Gauri Ganapati was immersed in a highly energetic atmosphere on Thursday evening. Immersion processions were going on at some places till late evening.
The five-day Ganeshotsav, which began on Saturday, September 7, concluded on Thursday evening. After spending five days in the homes of devotees, the beloved Bappa was farewelled in an emotional atmosphere with announcements like Ganapati Bappa Morya will come early next year at many places in Konkan.
Earlier, Gourai had arrived on Tuesday, while on Wednesday, women were overflowing with enthusiasm on the occasion of Gauri Puja. On Thursday afternoon, the Birthday Bappa was bid goodbye at various places in Konkan of Ratnagiri district. Immersion processions were done by throwing gulal. In rural areas, Ganpati idols were immersed in the river flowing through the village.
