Akshay Shinde opened fire.. and died in police retaliatory firing

Mumbai, 23:- Akshay Shinde, the prime accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, was killed in a police encounter on Monday (September 23). A policeman was also shot in this encounter. The injured policeman has been admitted to hospital. According to reports, Shinde opened fire while being taken into police custody and was killed in retaliatory firing by the police. While Akshay Shinde was being taken from Taloja Jail after his arrest in another crime, he snatched the policeman’s gun from the car and opened fire on the police. This time, Shinde fired a total of three bullets. One bullet hit a policeman, two bullets hit nobody. After this, another policeman took out his gun in self-defense and fired at Akshay Shinde, killing him.
In the month of August, Akshay Shinde was detained in the case of sexual harassment of two minor girls. On August 17, Akshay Shinde was arrested on charges of sexual harassment. SIT is investigating the entire case. Akshay Shinde has two other cases of rape filed against him, apart from rape at school in Badlapur. In this regard, the police had obtained his custody from the court. The incident took place when he was being taken back to the police custody from the jail.
