Akarsh Kumar planted red okra at Devrukh

Sangameshwar : Akarsh Kumar of Devrukh has cultivated red okra in red soil. Akarsh said that the product obtained from this will be used for seeds. He has successfully conducted various experiments in Devrukh with the aim of making the farmers switch to natural farming.

Akarsh Kumar is originally from Patna city of Bihar. Highly educated and in a big company in Pune, Akarsh chose to live in Devrukh’s soiled farmhouse. He made a firm decision to stay in Konkan and do full-time farming and experience the simple, healthy life of Konkan.

From that, they have become modern and natural farmers. He has farmed at three places in Devrukh. In that they do agriculture using indigenous varieties. Red okra in red soil is one of their symbols. Their aim is that other farmers can also switch to natural farming using indigenous seeds. Their aim is to use seeds in a natural way, to preserve the vitality of the soil.

Ideal for farmers
In general, the younger generation seems to be moving out of Konkan and into employment; But if farming is done using what is available in the land of Konkan, it will definitely benefit. Akarsh Kumar has adopted the Konkan lifestyle and experimented well here.
