Lanja: After the Badlapur school girl child abuse case, the state government has now issued orders to the Zilla Parishads to install CCTV cameras in all primary and secondary schools, private schools and appoint security women personnel.
Instructions have been given to the management and Zilla Parishad, all public institutions to take strict measures for the safety of male and female students in all schools. Special attention has been paid to appointment of non-teaching staff. The order mentions the appointment of female employees to take care of children up to six years of age.
In this order, it is mandatory to install CCTV cameras in the school premises. The footage of CCTV cameras should be verified by the Institute Director and Principal. Special attention should be paid to the appointment of teachers and non-teaching staff. It is mandatory to obtain police verification certificate for the employees who are appointed to the school. It has been ordered to lodge a complaint in the school, to appoint a student safety committee, to appoint a Sakhi Savitri committee, to review the taluka level district level state level committee, to take strict action in case of laxity of the school regarding security.
