A 38-year-old married rickshaw puller from Gawane in Lanja taluk committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree near his house. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. According to the police, he did this because of the depression of having an affair with another woman while he was married. Vinayak Anand Kamble (38) from Gawane was earning his livelihood by driving a rickshaw in Lanja during the night shift. Even after eight years of marriage, he was disappointed as there was no child. The family members came to know that he was having an affair with a woman living in Lanja. On Tuesday, Vinayak was taken by his parents and his wife to the woman. The woman and Vinayak were brought to an understanding together. After Vinayak gave an assurance that there would be no further relationship between us, the matter was put to rest. After dinner, all the family went to sleep. The wife woke up around 5 am, while Vinayak was sleeping. After that she also slept. Then Vinayak took the cable of the rickshaw and hanged himself from the mango tree next to the house. When the wife woke up at 5:30 am, Vinayak was not at his place and a search was conducted. Everyone thought he must have gone for breakfast around here. When his mother came to the courtyard in the morning, she saw Vinayak hanging from the mango tree. After she screamed, Vinayak’s father and wife came running. Father Anand Sayaji Kamble has informed the Lanja police that Vinayak committed suicide.
