According to the information received, after there was criticism from all sides regarding the fall of the statue, now in this background, the state government has taken a concrete step to re-erect the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot fort. The Public Works Department of the state of Maharashtra has floated a tender of Rs 20 crores for erecting a new statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort. An advertisement has been given in this regard in various newspapers of the state. Public Works Department Executive Engineer Kankavali has drawn up this tender process.
A period of six months to complete the work
For the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to stand majestically once again at the Malvan Rajkot fort, the government has expected an expenditure of 20 crores for the new statue. A time limit of six months has been given to complete the work. Aspirant sculptors have to submit a 3 feet high fiber model of the proposed statue of Shivaji Maharaj by October 3. Then on October 4, the best model will be selected and the next process of constructing the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort will begin.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the Mahayuti government claimed that the high speed of the wind was responsible for the collapse of Shivaji Maharaj’s statue on the fort. Therefore, it is being said that there is still no clarity about how these things will be taken care of while erecting a new statue, and how tall the new statue will be.
