RIYADH β The New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) has announced Michael Dyke as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Jan. 8, 2024.
With a distinguished career in leading large-scale enterprises and major projects, Dyke is presently a key figure in Balfour Beatty, overseeing the HS2 project, Europe’s largest infrastructure endeavor.
Formed on Feb. 16, 2023, NMDC is spearheading the New Murabba project, a groundbreaking urban development in Riyadh.
This initiative is set to establish the world’s most extensive, dynamic, and sustainable downtown area, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 for urban advancement.
Michael Dyke expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am deeply honored to lead NMDC and the creation of Riyadh’s new downtown.
βWith the unwavering support of stakeholders and our dedicated team, we aim to deliver a premier destination that will enrich Riyadh and Saudi Arabia for future generations and attract global visitors.”
Sabah Barakat, the acting CEO, will continue to contribute to NMDC in his capacity as Senior Director at PIF.
NMDC appreciates Barakat’s contributions, including significant achievements like forming the management team, developing the master plan, advancing the Mukaab design, awarding key project contracts, initiating site works, and excavating over 2 million cubic meters at the Mukaab, new Murabba’s centerpiece.
