5 crore approved for land acquisition of Sonawade Ghatmarg connecting Kolhapur and Sindhudurg

Hardened; Ajit Sawant: As per the changed alignment of the planned Sonawade Ghat route which will reduce the distance between Kolhapur and Sindhudurg, out of the 13 km stretch, 3 km stretch is within Kolhapur and 10 km stretch is within Sindhudurg. Out of the 10 km road in Sindhudurg area, 6 km part is under forest department and 4 km part is in private land. Guardian Minister Ravindra Chavan has immediately approved a fund of 5 crores for land acquisition in this private land.

Collector Kishore Tawde has also started activities on a war footing for this land acquisition. After the private and forest department land acquisition, the tender for the work of this ghatmarg will be floated. A budget of nearly 500 crores has been prepared for this ghat route.

After the last 40 years of struggle, Sonawade Ghatmarg has come into view. The necessary approvals from the Central Forest Environment and State Government for this ghat route were obtained two years ago. But later, after it was noticed that this ghat route was more steep for heavy vehicles, its alignment was changed to some extent. After that a survey was conducted. The new alignment was also approved. On the other hand, under the guidance of Guardian Minister Ravindra Chavan, the Public Works Department also speeded up the work of budgeting, land acquisition etc. Kankavali Sa.B. All this process was started through the Executive Engineer Ajay Kumar Sarvagod. Now the government has approved a fund of about 5 crores for land acquisition in private land in this Ghatmarg. Therefore, this process will now be started by the district administration at speed. After the land acquisition of the private land, the land acquisition process in the possession of the Forest Department will be done. After taking possession of the land, the tender for this ghatmarg will be floated. The budget of the work is also ready with the Chief Engineer's Office. Guardian Minister Ravindra Chavan is pursuing to start the work of this Ghatmarg at the earliest. Due to this, land acquisition and other works will speed up in the next few days.
