Ratnagiri : Although the number of tourists is increasing due to marine tourism in the district, the safety of tourists seems to be left to the wind by the government. Although there is a lack of security guards on many beaches, accidents are being avoided in Ganpatipule, a religious tourist place in the district, due to security guards and water sports. Although the coast is dangerous, local authorities have been able to secure it thanks to lifeguards. In Dapoli, Guhagar in the district, some village panchayats have given priority to the safety of tourists by appointing security guards.

Like Goa, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri district also has many beautiful beaches. The number of tourists visiting these beaches has also increased in the last two-three years. But the famous beaches of Bhatye, Areware in Ratnagiri are without security guards. A few years ago near the beach some NCC students drowned at Bhatye beach. Three or four people drowned at the same time here in Arevara. At both these places, the bay ends with the sea, making the coast dangerous. Many beaches in Dapoli, Guhagar, Ratnagiri talukas of Ratnagiri district are famous and the number of tourists coming from Mumbai, Pune, Western Maharashtra and border areas is large. It has also been observed that there are more drownings due to unpredictability of sea waves and water currents. Accidents are more likely to occur at this place during high tide. Therefore, tourists should get into the sea water after taking information from experts.

Ganapatipule became safe…

Ganpatipule is being named as a world tourist destination as a religious tourist destination. But the sea in Ganpatipule is dangerous. The appointments of security guards were canceled by the government. So? Ganpatipule Gram Panchayat, Devasthan made a special effort and started keeping security guards. As these security guards also supported the local vendors, accidents at sea could be avoided. Due to the boost in water sports in the last three-four years, the employees here also started running to help.

Water sports activities have reduced the number of accidents

Water sports have started on many beaches in the district. Because of this, the professionals here are aware. After realizing that an accident is happening, immediate efforts are made to evacuate them. Due to this, the number of accidents has decreased.
