More information about this is that the incident took place at Kokangaon in Sakri taluka on June 21, 2019 around 9:30 in the morning. Gorakh Eknath Chavan was married to Bhartibai. The couple has a son and a daughter. However, Gorakh Chavan was not doing any work. He was addicted to alcohol. Due to his addiction to alcohol, he was always suspicious of Bhartibai's character. Tired of this harassment, Bhartibai along with her children came to live with her relatives at Kokangaon in Sakri taluka. Dhule News
But on June 21, 2019, the accused Gorakh Chavan reached Kokangaon and started abusing Bhartibai. Bhartibai was washing clothes at this time. At this time both Tanaji Mali and Deepak Mali tried to make Gorakh understand. However, he took a big stone in his hand and threw it on his wife Bhartibai's head. Bhartibai was seriously injured and died on the spot. After this, Gorakh Chavan fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, a case was registered in this regard at Pimpalner Police Station. After this, the police arrested Gorakh Chavan and filed a charge sheet in the court after further investigation. The case was heard before Sessions Judge MJ Baig. On behalf of the government party, Adv. Parag Patil examined six witnesses. Prosecutor Sukhdev Gaikwad and Kashinath Mali, Deepak Mali, the brother of the deceased married, and Doctor Nilesh Bhamre and the then police officer Punjabrao Rathod, who was investigating during Corona, testified.
Meanwhile, as Punjabrao Rathod died, the testimony of the then Police Station Officer Prakash Lohar also became important to identify his signatures. Interestingly, the testimony of eyewitnesses proved to be important in this case. The accused was present at the spot. This was proved by the government party. It was also brought to the attention of the court that eyewitnesses were also present. Arguing on behalf of the government in this case, Additional Public Prosecutor Parag Patil presented several judgments of the court. Accordingly, it was requested to give severe punishment to the accused. According to Sessions Judge M. J. Baig sentenced Gorakh Chavan to life imprisonment for murder.
