Ratnagiri, Pudaari News Service: Cold waves have been active in the Konkan coastal areas since Wednesday night due to the drop in minimum temperature and cyclonic wind condition over the Arabian Sea. Due to this, a mild winter has started in Konkan. The weather department has predicted that the temperature will drop by two to three degrees in the next few days and the process of freezing in Konkan will start rapidly.

At present, the Konkan coastal area has been experiencing cloudy weather for a few days and the weather is constantly fluctuating. Dew is falling with fog due to decrease in weather in the district. Due to the cloudy weather in some places, it is getting cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. The cold is gradually increasing in the coming days. Coastal areas including Ratnagiri started experiencing light hail. The mercury also dropped on the thermometer on Thursday. On Friday morning, the maximum temperature was recorded as 29 degrees Celsius. During the day, however, the heat was constant. Citizens have to face mixed weather like cool in the morning and hot in the afternoon.

The Meteorological Department's Colaba center recorded a minimum temperature of 21.5 degrees Celsius in Ratnagiri town and rural areas on Thursday night and a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius on Friday. The minimum temperature was 1 degree less than last two days. The weather department has predicted the possibility of severe cold in the last days of December.

Cold nutrient for mango blossom

The mango blossom process is currently underway. Spraying work is going on by mango growers. Mango growers are expecting that this spraying should add cold. The mango growers are happy as the cold has started to intensify since the last two days.
