Pune: Ladaki Bahine Yojana was introduced three months before the elections. Congress MLA from Haryana and Olympic medalist wrestler Vinesh Phogat asked that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders should answer whether the women athletes who were protesting against injustice on the streets of Delhi were not your loved ones.
She also said that she has entered politics only to ensure that no injustice is done to any woman.
She had come to the city to campaign for Mahavikas Aghadi candidates in Pune. He interacted with reporters at Congress Bhavan. City President Arvind Shinde, Region General Secretary Adv. Abhay Chhajed, former MLA Deepti Chavadhari were present. National spokesperson of the party Dr. Shama Mohmand introduced Phogat.
Phogat attacked BJP in strong words. She said that in Delhi, we women athletes were protesting against the injustice done to us. The BJP government did not even pay attention to us. Schemes like Ladaki Baheen are being introduced at the central and state levels as well. However, it was brought three months before the election. This shows their intention. Phogat also questioned whether we were not dear sisters.
I neither want to be Chief Minister nor Prime Minister in politics. I feel that no injustice should be done not only to me but to any woman. That is why I entered politics and consciously chose Congress. Now as an MLA I can complain against any woman.
Not only in Maharashtra but in most of the states of the country, policies and laws are being made against farmers. Farmers protested against it for 11 months in Delhi. The BJP government did not pay attention to them either. After about 11 months, those laws were withdrawn. Meanwhile, 700 farmers lost their lives. Phogat also appealed to the voters of Maharashtra to remember all these things and vote for the candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi.
