Chiplun : Every year a festival is celebrated on the occasion of Tripurari Poornima at the historic Govindgad at Gowalkot in the city. This year too, this festival was celebrated with hundreds of torches. Govindgarh lit up in the light of torches.
This festival is held every year on behalf of Shri Dev Someshwar and Shri Devi Karanjashwari Devasthan at Gowalkot. This year too, Deepotsava was inaugurated in the temple at the base of the fort. After this, the Shivjyot and the palanquin were taken to Govindgad. On this occasion, fireworks were set off. President of Shri Dev Someshwar and Shri Devi Karanjashwari Devasthan Adv. The celebration was held in the presence of Prasad Chiplunkar and other officials. The festival was celebrated by lighting torches on the towers of the fort in all four directions. On this occasion, the costume of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by a local artist became eye-catching. Similarly, Deepotsav was also celebrated in the traditional manner in the temple areas of Old Kalbhairav, New Kalbhairav, Gandhareshwar, Gautameshwar, Vireshwar etc. in Chiplun city.
Tripurari Poornima festival was celebrated this year also in a traditional manner by Sri Kshetra Parashuram Devasthan. A grand Panati was lit on the top of the hill at some distance from the temple. It was inaugurated by raising shripal at the Shri Dev Juna Kalbhairav ββtemple in the city. After lighting the torch from Shri Dev Bhargavarao Temple, Bajrang Mitra Mandal and devotees took it from Pyrwadi to Deepmale.
