Devrukha: A speeding car hit a rickshaw from behind at Nidlewadi on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway on Saturday evening. In this accident, Aslam Suleman Boat (age 54, native of Sangameshwar Kalambaste, currently of Ratnagiri) residing in Ratnagiri died on the spot. Boat’s wife Shabana Boat sustained serious head injuries in the accident. The accident happened in the evening.
Since Sangameshwar is the head of the Kalambaste pass, the couple Aslam Bot and his wife Shabana Bot from Ratnagiri came to Kalambaste by rickshaw on Saturday. In the evening, while he was going to Ratnagiri in a rickshaw, a speeding car from behind hit him hard and his rickshaw left the road and fell into the valley. Aslam Bot died in this. After the accident, the car driver escaped from the spot. Aslam Boat and his wife in the rickshaw who were seriously injured were brought to the rural hospital by ambulance. Aslam Boat died before treatment. As soon as the news of his accidental death came to light, many people rushed to the Sangameshwar Rural Hospital. The driver who was responsible for the accident escaped from the spot by driving recklessly.
