Chiplun : The work of breaking the pillar cap on the flyover passing through Chiplun town on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway has finally been completed. So now the next work has been accelerated. Also, a new pillar will be erected between the old two pillars to strengthen the bridge. The mechanism is going to be increased to speed up this work.
There have been continuous problems in the work of the flyover in Chiplun for three years. A total of 46 pillars were erected for this bridge as per the initial plan, then while the further work was progressing, on October 16, 2023, a part of the bridge collapsed at Bahadursheikh Naka. After the collapse of the bridge, some errors in the construction came to light. The central government sent an expert committee to inspect the bridge. As per the recommendations of that committee, the National Highways Department has made changes in the design of this bridge. The former in that
New pillars are being erected at 20 meters to reduce the distance between the pillars by canceling the 40 meters between them. According to this new design, 282 pilings will be erected. Till now, most of the piling work has been completed. Pillar demolition work has been going on for the past three months. A few days ago, two workers were injured in an accident. The company then continued work by erecting barricades at the pier cap demolition site; But now the company has increased the system and started the work rapidly. The task of breaking the pier cap in this work was very difficult; But after the company has completed this now, the rest of the work has started to speed up.
