Establishments within 100 meters of the polling station will remain closed till the end of polling on November 20

Ratnagiri, Dt. 16 : Establishment within 100 meters of the polling station in the district. District Magistrate M Devender Singh has ordered closure for the period from the start of polling on November 20 till the end of polling.

Code of Conduct for Assembly General Election 2024 dt. It has come into effect from October 15. 263 Dapoli, 264 Guhagar, 265 Chiplun, 266 Ratnagiri and 267 Rajapur assembly constituencies. Voting will be held on November 20, and the date of the assembly general election. Counting of votes will be held on November 23. The code of conduct will remain in force until the election results are announced.

If the establishments within 100 meters of all the polling stations continue to be established during the polling period on November 20 in the district, the possibility of disturbing the public peace and law and order cannot be ruled out due to the gathering of various party workers and other social stakeholders for no reason and arguing among them due to various reasons. This may disrupt public peace near the polling station and disrupt the voting process.

Therefore, in order for law and order to remain undisturbed, District Magistrate M Devender Singh, as per the provisions of Section 163 (3) of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has ordered the establishment within 100 meters of the polling station in the entire district. Urgent unilateral orders have been issued to close the polls from 20th November 2024 till the end of polling.
