Village: Central Railway has run 32 runs of four Diwali specials to ease the rush of regular trains during the Diwali holiday season. 8 rounds were run due to overwhelming response of passengers to all rounds.

Following this, the Sawantwadi-Panvel weekly special also rested at the yard after the 13th November round. All these three special trains received a great response from the employees. The revenue of the railway administration has also been increased by these trains.
During the Diwali holiday season, the regular trains plying on the Konkan route are crowded with passengers. To reduce this crowd, the Central Railway administration had announced four Diwali specials namely LTT-Savantwadi, Pune-Savantwadi, Sawantwadi Panvel, LTT-Kochuveli. The 8 runs of LTT-Savantwadi Weekly Special received great response from the passengers. After the final round on November 8, the Special Yard rested. Pune-Savantwadi weekly special will also stop.
