Kolhapur: Panchganga ghat lit up with 51 thousand lights

Kolhapur : The banks of the Panchganga lit up early on Friday morning with the slow flowing river Panchganga accompanied by a pleasant dawn, the decoration of attractive magnificent rangolis and the twinkling of 51 thousand lamps on the Samadhi temple, the picturesque lighting, the sky lit up in seven colors by fireworks.

This Diwali festival is traditionally concluded by lighting the lamps in the temples along with the reservoirs on Tripurari Poornima.

The ceremony was conducted by ‘Shivamudra Pratishthan’ in Panchganga Nadighat area. Deepotsava started at four in the morning with Deep Puja. Aarti was performed by President’s award winner Sagar Bagade. Citizens started lighting lamps on the lamp posts in Brahmapuri, Mahadev Temple, Krimakeshwar Temple, Ravaneshwar, Picnic Point along with Nadi Ghats.

Even on the Samadhi temple in the riverbed, the area was looking picturesque as the lights of the Panatas fell on it. All the training institutes of Peth, the Municipal Corporation along with the White Army soldiers participated in the Deepotsav. Sandeep Desai, Atul Vastad, Akshay Mithari, Raju Quaid, Nilesh Jadhav, Avadhoot Koli, Deepak Desai, Praveen Chowgule, Avinash Salokhe, Vinod Hazare, Vaibhav Kawade, Saeham Kurhade worked hard for this.

Eye-catching enlightening rangolis

Along with Deepotsava, enlightening rangolis were drawn in Panchganga Nadighat area. It had a replica of Keshavrao Bhosle Theatre, magnificent rangolis of Ambabai Devi and Sanskar Bharati. In the wake of the election, awareness was being spread through one or more eye-catching rangolis along with the rangolis that spread awareness about voting.

Devotional songs added to the color of Deepotsava

‘Swardeepotsav’ by Aharan Presend Antrang performed a program of devotional songs and devotional songs for two and a half hours. Mahesh Hiremath and Shubhangi Joshi started with the Ganpati stotra ‘Sur Niragas Ho’. ‘Ambabaichi Bhupaali’, ‘Gondhal’, ‘Ganpati Bhupali’, ‘Shetkari Geeta’ were performed in this concert which was staged successively. Pandharicha Raya, Uthi Srirama, Chelo Gheuni, Guru Parmatma Pareshu, Fite Andhache Jale followed by the song of Goddess Malharwari’s confusion song. He was supported by Pradeep Jirge, Swanand Jadhav, Mahesh Kadam and Sridhar Jadhav. Swapnil Panhalkar made a statement.

This year, the organizers had completely torn up the laser show. Therefore, the citizens were robbed of the sheer joy of the traditional Deepotsava.
